‘The Northeast Marine Pilots Association plays a key role in the efficient and safe movement of commerce through our waters while also ensuring environmental protection. Through our many years of maritime experience, we understand the need for ocean planning. We have witnessed the competition for space amongst the numerous ocean-based business sectors either currently operating or planning to operate near our ports. Effective regional coordination can reduce unnecessary conflict and enhance maritime safety, which is a priority for pilots along with the maritime commerce sector as a whole.’
