‘The Port of Davisville at Quonset Business Park is one of the top ten sites for auto imports in North America, has enjoyed six consecutive record breaking years. Davisville is also home to one of the largest producers of frozen fish on the US East Coast. New opportunities for the port, such as the staging and assembly of components for the emerging offshore wind industry, are also taking shape.
As the Director of the Port of Davisville, I recognize how our oceans can create jobs and keep the economy moving. At the Port of Davisville our businesses annually account for about 1,500 jobs, $333 million in business output within the State of Rhode Island and nearly $97 million in household earnings. That’s why I support coordinated ocean planning. It is necessary to ensure that existing and emerging ocean uses can all be accommodated, including those industries that rely on a clean and healthy ocean.’
